Mounted group of five full size medals consisting of 1939 – 1945 Star, France and Germany Star, Defence Medal, 1939 – 1945 War Medal and a silver territorial efficiency medal. TA medal impressed named to 1457855 BDR J E ARMSTRONG RA. Also included is his fathers George V Special Constabulary Medal impressed named EDWARD J ARMSTRONG. Accompanying the group is John Armstrong’s Territorial enlistment certificate (army form E501A), Pay Book (army book 64) confirming medal entitlement, Release Book Class A and Record of Service Card (Army Form W5258). All documents are original. John Armstrong served with the 55th Anti Tank Regt Royal Artillery he also served with 208th Anti Tank Regt, RA, TA. He served on operational duty from 9th July 1944 to 18th January 1946 in N W Europe being discharged 14th May 1947. He lived at Shepards Farm, Lackford Bury St Edmonds. being born at Stowmarket Suffolk.
